The research conducted in the Research laboratory on human-animal relations, directed by Catherine Amiot, Ph.D., aims to investigate, in a systematic manner and by integrating knowledge and theoretical models from different scientific disciplines, the nature of the psychological connection that ties us to different species and types of animals (pets, wild animals, farm animals). The research projets seek to identify the social and psychological factors that influence these relations. More broadly, our research aims to encourage a balanced integration of animals within our human lives, and to simultaneously promote human and animal well-being.
