Catherine Amiot is a professor at the Department of Psychology at the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM). Trained as a social psychologist, Catherine Amiot completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at McGill University, as well as a master’s degree in social psychology at UQAM and a doctorate at the University of Ottawa, before undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Queensland in Australia. In social psychology, her research has focused on intergroup discrimination, social norms, self and identity, human motivation, and psychological well-being. For more than 10 years now, Catherine Amiot has applied theories developed in social psychology and in the field of health to better understand our relations with animals.
